Application of the Method of Free Associative Experiment in the Study of the Psychological Meaning of the Word

Abstract

The article examines the psychological structure of the meaning of the word diplomacy in the language consciousness of native speakers. The differences between the meaning present in the mind of a native speaker and the lexicographic interpretation are analyzed. The application of the method of free associative experiment in the process of identifying the content of the subjective meaning of a word is considered. The article analyzes the interconnectedness and mutual influence of the psychological structure of the meaning of the word with the worldview and worldview of modern young people. An attempt to comprehend the linguistic picture of the world of modern youth is also presented.
