Letter and Color in Consciousness of Modern Representative of Russian Linguoculture

Keywords: color, perception, vowels, Russian linguoculture.

The article addresses the problem of color perception of the letters of the Russian alphabet in the minds of modern representatives of Russian linguoculture. The data from recent studies confirming the thesis of the impact of language on the basic functions of the psyche, which allows any culture to introduce its attitudes into the human consciousness, have been used to formulate a hypothesis about the impact of the English language on the perception of the color of the vowels of the Russian alphabet by young representatives of the Russian society. Experimental results partially confirming the hypothesis are presented.
