Using the questionnaire method we got important results: (1) majority of surname bearers have assessed positively their surnames; (2) the perception of the surname as a name of the family line that should be protected and preserved dominates; (3) prejudice to the surnames was connected with such factors as negative connotation of surnames (negative associations), formation of offensive informal names, diminutive form; (4) only one person out of 40 declared his wish to change the surname, although there were a few negative opinions. </p>}, journal={Psycholinguistics in a Modern World}, author={Chornous, Oksana}, year={2020}, month={Dec.}, pages={292-296} }
