Model of Self-Representativeness of a Diarist in the Context of Diary Narrative

Abstract

The paper reveals the idea of self-representativeness as a psychological category intended to create positive proper impression; its functioning in terms of diary material has been observed. It has been proved that self-representativeness is the effective measure to represent personal information while favouring formation of ‘Me’. In the context of diary narrative, the self-representativeness category is connected with communicative phenomenon being specific linguistic actions by a diary entity to represent personal attitude during certain life period. Attention has been drawn to the understanding of self-representativeness processes; among other things, it concerns communicative competence, communicative behaviour, and communicative and pragmatic canon which become evident in the process of intercourse.
